A freshman at the University of Central Florida, Ashley auditions for and lands a sought-after spot on Fahrenheit, a 30-person strong competitive dance and winterguard team that would ultimately, during her tenure, advance to the most competitive world-class level. There, she put in two-day, 12-hour rehearsals every weekend for the better part of two years. Amidst multiple guest choreographers and their myriad of teaching styles, constantly evolving dance partners and major changes to choreography just hours prior to competition, Ashley soared. Flexible and adaptable in her performance, the choreography was not just about the sequence of steps and movements, it was also about the communication - with her partner and audience - reading the in-the-moment context, and being flexible to what was most needed. Today Ashley calls upon those well-tuned skills of flexibility, adaptability, and fluidity in her communication style.
